Project details

This is an annual program to repair, replace or reconstruct existing road network segments with hot mix asphalt to maintain adequate high class bituminous (HCB) surface road assets.

Structure adjustments, water valve adjustments, concrete curb and sidewalk repairs will also be completed under this project.

Huron Road culvert replacement project

Project details

This 1950s era culvert was recommended for full replacement during a 2023 OSIM inspection. The culvert is located on Huron Road, approximately 10 metres east of Haysville Road. 

Kieswetter Excavating was awarded the contract to replace the culvert. The replacement is a precast concrete box culvert with the creek bottom being reinstated on top of the bottom section of the culvert to maintain a natural creek bottom.

Puddicombe Road culvert replacement project

Project details

This 1980s era culvert was recommended for full replacement during a 2023 OSIM inspection. The culvert is located on Puddicombe Road, approximately 200 metres south of Bridge Road.

This project will also include a redesign of the road shoulders and new guide rails to enhance motorist safety.

Timing 

Work is now underway. 

Traffic impacts

• Puddicombe Road will be closed south of Bridge Street for three weeks while the culvert is replaced.
• Traffic flagging will be in place for two weeks following the culvert replacement to accommodate guide rail installations.

Brewery Street and Snyder's Road East Sanitary Repairs

Project Details

Brewery Street and Snyder’s Road East underwent construction for sanitary repairs and new watermain section installation.

This project also included surface works for concrete curbs, concrete sidewalks, separated cycling lanes, road base and asphalt riding surface.

Current phase

Sidewalk inspections are completed each spring as part of the Township’s regular maintenance practices and to comply with provincial standards.

Repairs identified through the inspection program start in the spring and are completed in the fall. 

Project details

Through this annual program, we prioritize repairs on sections of sidewalk that are found to feature a tripping hazard of 2 cm or more.
