1. What is happening at the Canada Day event?
The Canada Day event has something for everyone, from children’s games to live music and fireworks. Visit wilmot.ca/CanadaDayEventDetails for what’s happening.
2. Where can I park on Canada Day?
Limited parking for is available within the park and is available for people with accessibility requirements who have a valid parking permit. Parking by the boat lunch is available only for the Indigenous Sunrise Ceremony that starts at 7 a.m. For parking locations, see the map at wilmot.ca/CanadaDayParking.
3. Is there an admission fee for the Canada Day event?
No fee is required. This event is presented by the Township of Wilmot and funded in part by the Government of Canada and local sponsors. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
4. Is the Wilmot Off-leash Dog Park open on Canada Day?
The off-leash dog park will be closed on Canada Day.
5. Can I bring my pet?
People are encouraged to leave pets, with the exception of service animals, at home. Those who do bring pets will be required to have them on a leash at all times.
6. Will alcohol be served or allowed at the event?
This is a family-friendly event. No alcohol is permitted in the park.
7. Why is the event being held in William Scott Park?
The location was chosen by the 2024 Wilmot Canada Day Task Force, comprised of community representatives and service club members. Scott Park has a number of treed areas that allow shade and keep things cooler during hot days, such as July 1. It is also a central location for viewing the fireworks.
8. Are volunteers needed for the event?
We are thrilled that so many volunteers came forward, including those who are serving on the 2024 Canada Day Event Task Force. Thanks to everyone involved.
9. Can I sponsor the event?
Businesses have sponsored the event. Sponsorship is now closed as we prepare for the event.
10. Is there space for vendors?
Space for vendors is now full. Thank you.
11. Are the Scott Park tennis court hours impacted by the event?
The Scott Park tennis court will be closed to the public on on Sunday, June 30 in preparation for the event, and on Monday, July 1 for the event itself.
