Project Notes/Details:
The Township of Wilmot is planning to proceed with the continuation of the reconstruction of Snyder’s Road West from Foundry Street to Christian Street and Foundry Street from Snyder’s Road to Charles Street. The contractor for this project is Steed & Evans Ltd. of St. Jacobs, Ontario.
Work has been split into two phases and is expected to take two full construction seasons to complete. Phase 1 of construction was completed in 2024 and construction for Phase 2 (2025) is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid to late April, weather permitting and be completed late fall. Phase 2 is to include Foundry Street from Snyder’s Road to Charles Street, and the remaining section of Snyder’s Road West from Foundry Street to Mill Street. Phase 1 (2024) included Snyder’s Road West from approximately Mill Street to Christian Street and has been mostly completed with final restoration expected to be completed this spring.
Work consists of full road reconstruction including, new sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, concrete separated cycling lanes, road base and asphalt riding surface.
Phase 2
Stage 1A starting approximately mid-April, work will be done in the Charles Street intersection first and will be temporarily restored prior to Snyder's Road closure
- Stage 1A closure will be Foundry Street between Charles Street to Snyder’s Road with Snyder’s Road remaining open to through traffic.
- Isolated lane closures on Snyder’s Road West between Mill Street and Christian Street for final landscaping and driveway restorations.
- All businesses located within the closure remain open – Follow posted signage for access.
- Speed cushions will be installed in the coming weeks on some affected side streets.
- Please follow the posted detour signs.
Stage 1B starting approximately mid-May Access to plaza will be from the north.
Stage 1C starting approximately mid-July Access to Castle Kilbride will be from Wagler Ave.
