The Township of Wilmot bills and collects taxes for ourselves, but also for the Region of Waterloo, and the provincial education property tax. The Township Council is only responsible for setting the tax rate for the Township portion of your bill. The Council of the Region of Waterloo, and the Province set the tax rates for their respective portions. Out of every residential tax dollar collected by the Township $0.29 is retained while $0.57 goes to the Region of Waterloo while the remaining $0.14 goes towards the School Boards.
The Tax Rates for 2024 can be found here. Prior year's tax rates can be found here.
