The most recent comprehensive updates to the Township of Wilmot Official Plan were finalized in April, 2019. The process for these updates is outlined below.

| Report DS 2017-10 considered by Council. This report contains a summary of the proposed conformity changes to the Official Plan along with the draft updated plan and maps. The report also contains details of all proposed urban and rural settlement boundary changes and accompanying maps | ||||||
| August 28, 2017 | ||||||
| A special meeting of Council was held on August 28, 2017 at 8:00pm to provide an opportunity for Council to seek public input on what revisions may be required to the current Township Official Plan to bring the plan into conformity with the Region of Waterloo Official Plan. More information is available be reviewing the Notice of Special Council Meeting. | ||||||
| October 16 and October 23, 2017 | ||||||
| A public open house to allow for public review of both proposed amendments was held on Monday October 16, 2017 from 2pm to 8pm in the Wilmot Community Room at the Township Administration Complex.
A Public Meeting to consider the amendments was held on Monday October 23, 2017 at 7pm in the Council Chambers at the Township Administration Complex.

| February 26, 2019 - Amendment to Regional Official Plan | ||||||
| The Region of Waterloo held a Public Meeting on March 20, 2018 to consider proposed amendments to the Regional Official Plan to implement the Township adopted OPA 9. The Regional Plan amendment became final on February 26, 2019. | ||||||
| March 29, 2019 - Region of Waterloo approval of OPA 9 | ||||||
| April 19, 2019 - Updates came into effect | ||||||
