Discover Your Wilmot: A Community of Caring Communities is a grant funding program that was established to promote a greater sense of belonging for the community. The program allocates grant funding to registered not-for-profits, service clubs, community groups and individuals that can demonstrate the ability to bring our community together through programs, events or community build projects.
After a successful pilot in 2016 and 2017, the program was re-established for 2018 and 2019, through a continuation of the funding made available via the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation (KWCF).
In September 2020, another intake was announced, again with funding via KWCF. This intake named Discover Your Wilmot: COVID-19 Recovery, and was intended for socially inclusive initiatives for neighbourhoods throughout the Township. The full funding of $5,000 was provided to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre to support their new Indigenous Worker position.
