There are many people in Waterloo Region who are experiencing homelessness. In response to this ongoing crisis, the Region of Waterloo is moving forward with a plan to open an outdoor shelter at 1001 Erb’s Road. Read the full media release from the Region of Waterloo.
The interim outdoor shelter is one part of the Region’s Interim Housing Solutions Strategy. The Region is responsible for housing services and takes the lead on work to address homelessness. Wilmot Township will support the Region’s work when and where we can.
