To meet the need for an accessibility advisory committee under the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Township of Wilmot is a member municipality of the Grand River Accessibility Advisory Committee (GRAAC).
GRAAC is a cross-disability municipal advisory committee which provides advice to the local municipal councils of the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, the Region of Waterloo and the townships of Woolwich, Wellesley, Wilmot and North Dumfries. Members are chosen based on experience in the field of disability. Members have a lived experience of disability-issues or are agencies serving persons with disabilities. Members must have a willingness to work within the framework of a municipal advisory committee.
