It is the responsibility of the home owner to ensure the water coming out of their private water well is safe to consume and meets or exceeds provincial standards.
The Region of Waterloo operates the private well testing program. Private well owners are encouraged to test their well water for:

bacteria (free of charge)
-
nitrate and fluoride testing (small fee).
