This document is a consolidation of the 1983 Township of Wilmot Zoning By-law as updated by By-law 2020-026 together with amendments up to July 24, 2023. What is a Zoning By-law?
A Zoning By-law establishes and regulates land use in the Township by implementing the policies of the Official Plan by stating:
- how land and buildings may be used
- where buildings and other structures can be located
- lot sizes and dimensions, parking requirements and building heights
Applying for a zone change
Zone change applications are available on our Planning application forms page. Prior to filing an application we strongly recommend contacting our Planning division and reviewing the application fees. Zoning complaints and infractions
Investigation and inspections related to zoning complaints and infractions is completed by Township By-law enforcement.
By-law enforcement will:
- investigate by-law complaints
- enforce by-law regulations and standards
- help to achieve resolution to by-law infractions through voluntary compliance or prosecution
