Learn to Water Polo Clinics
The Wilmot Aquatic Centre is excited to introduce “Learn to Water Polo” clinics. Youth ages 7 through 14 will have the opportunity to learn the basics of water polo, offered at 3 different swimming levels by Swim & Play Ball. Each clinic includes 45 minutes of skill-based activities followed by 15 minutes of scrimmage. Two clinic dates are available, on Sunday, January 19 and Sunday, February 23. Registration is required.
Read descriptions below to help determine which clinic level is best for you.
Low Group / Blue Cap Recommended for ages 7 to 10, or swimming levels 3 to 6. This group must be able to swim 10 meters, and tread water for 15 seconds. Register for Low Group January 19 Register for Low Group February 23
Medium Group / Orange Cap Recommended for ages 7 to 10, or swimming levels 6 to 8. Participants of this group must be able to swim 50 meters, and tread water for 1 minute. Register for Medium Group January 19 Register for Medium Group February 23

NEW Drop-In Programs |
High Intensity Aquafit
Aquafit has reached a new level at the Wilmot Aquatic Centre. Beginning September 10, 2024, participants looking for a great workout are invited to drop in for High Intensity Aquafit. This 45-minute class consists of high intensity cardio, strength and endurance exercises. This program will incorporate both deep and shallow water components. Participants must wear a water belt in the deep water. Drop-in programs do not require registration.

NEW Swimming Lesson Programs |
Adapted AquaticsAdapted Aquatics is a specialized program for participants 3 years and older with disabilities. This 45-minute class is geared toward beginner swim levels and offered in the Leisure Pool. Participants will have the opportunity to work through the program at their own pace, with individualized instruction provided at a 1-on-1 or 1- to-2 ratio. Registration is open for sessions beginning on January 11, 2025. Upcoming Sessions: Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. Saturdays at 4:45 p.m. Following registration, enrolled participants will receive a form for completion to determine qualification for the program. Unqualified participants will be withdrawn. Adult and Child Aquafit
This program is suitable for adults and infants ages 4 to 18 months. Caring for an infant and finding time to exercise can be difficult. Adult and Child Aquafit is a 8-week program that offers participants the opportunity to get active, with child in tow! Each 45-minute class begins in the Lap Pool. Participants will engage in strength and cardio exercises for 30 minutes, with infants floating within arm’s reach in a provided baby boat. The remaining 15 minutes of class will be spent socializing in the Leisure Pool. Registration is open for Winter 2025 Sessions. Upcoming Sessions: Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m.
Daytime Adult and Senior Swimming Lessons
Swimming Lessons are beneficial for everyone. Daytime Adult and Senior Swimming Lessons are now offered at the Wilmot Recreation Complex for participants 18+ of all swim abilities. Each 45-minute class consists of water safety and practical work to help participants reach goals such as learning to swim, stroke correction, or swimming for fitness. Registration is open for Winter 2025 Sessions Upcoming Sessions: Thursdays at 1:15 p.m.
Home School LessonsHome School Lessons are daytime swimming lessons offered for various swim levels from Preschool 5 to Swimmer 8. Classes are 30 minutes in length, and run weekly for 12 weeks.

Private and Semi-Private LessonsPrivate and Semi-Private Lessons offer focused and personalized instruction to develop swimming skills. Participants will receive 1-on-1 instruction for private lessons, and 1-on-2 instruction for semi-private lessons. Participants must be 3 years or older. Lessons are offered in 3, 4, and 5 Lesson Blocks.

Warm Pool Private Lessons:Warm Pool Private Lessons are designed for young participants working Swimmer 2 skills and below. This program offers 1-on-1 instruction in the Leisure Pool. Sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays in 4 and 5 lesson blocks at various timeslots. Registration is open for Winter 2025 Sessions.
