The Council of The Township of Wilmot acknowledges that it is responsible to provide good government in an accountable and transparent manner by:
Accountability, transparency and openness are achieved through the municipality adopting measures ensuring, to the best of its ability, that all activities and services are undertaken using a process that is open and accessible.
Council is expected to follow a Code of Conduct and may be subject to an investigation by the Integrity Commissioner if a complaint is filed.
The expenses of the Members of Council paid by the Township are made available to the public in accordance with Section 284 of the Municipal Act.
The following reports have been prepared by the Director of Finance and also include the honorariums paid by the Township to Members of Council.
Section 270.1.6 of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001 states that: "a municipality shall adopt and maintain policies with respect to the delegation of its powers and duties." Delegation of power policies are provided to increase efficiency and effectiveness for the provision of certain services to the public.
